On Tuesday, May 27th 2025, 6-8pm, I’ll be part of an event celebrating the publication of the Cooper Hewitt’s beautiful new book Making Home: Belonging, Memory and Utopia in the 21st Century (the companion volume to their current Smithsonian Design Triennial). I’ll be representing “utopia,” talking about “Affairs of Plain Living” my essay on the Foxfire books (which you can now also read online at Scratch a new platform for design writing.) I’ll be in conversation with fellow writers Curry J. Hackett and Catherine E. McKinley as well as the editors and exhibition co-curators, Alexandra Cunningham Cameron, Christina De Leon, and Michelle Joan Wilkinson.
The event will be at the Cooper Hewitt’s beautiful mansion, 2 East 91st Street, New York, NY. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased here.
