A new talk show on East Village Radio & the first ever Angel-of-the-Summer!
FINALLY! On Monday, July 29th, 12-2pm, I’ll broadcast my first “Angelic Transmission” on the newly revived East Village Radio!
Every time I’ve popped over to EVR the past few days I’ve heard the most amazing stuff. I’m not exaggerating to say how grateful I am to take part in this project. You can listen on their site, (and watch video streaming from inside the booth —with three different cams!) My show, “Angelic Transmissions”, is on live every other week at the same time slot, and will then be archived online. I’ll be talking to artists and writers about their new books, exhibitions, and whatever else is going in the New York art world. Oh, and we’ll also listen to music.
Episode #01 — For the first half I’ll be talking with critic Simon Wu about his new book of art essays Dancing On My Own (2024). In the second hour I’ll be joined by TABBOO!, the East Village Legend herself, to discuss the new oral history “We Started a Nightclub”: The Birth of the Pyramid Cocktail Lounge As Told By Those Who Lived It (2024). It’s going to be a blast! And, as if that weren’t enough, we’ll have a special report by Leigha Mason, “Essential Cinema" correspondent, on the treasures over at Anthology Film Archives.
AND NOW, I’d like to announce the first ever Angel-of-the-Summer (holding the titles of Angel-of-the-Month for June, July and August 2024!)
