DILFS! NYC and LA Book Events! & March's Angel-of-the-Month!
Every Tuesday since January I’ve been rooting in the front row of Candystore’s event Dilf-O-Vision at Parkside lounge, a watch-party-cum-performance-art celebration of queer emotions and reality television personas. (There are four more weeks! Come!)
Professional bad gurl Jake Brush was a special guest, and coincidentally, an article I wrote on his work was just published in the current issue of Cultured. Not coincidentally, Jake has a video and sculptural installation on view now in the terrific exhibition “Extra Taste” at International Objects (through 21st April).
(I’m planning on making a t-shirt to wear in Fire Island this summer with a quote from one of Jake’s videos: From the very moment I laid eyes on you, you reminded me of someone I didn’t like—and she’s right there. Also she’s the same person and this is going to be an amazing summer.)
I have not one but two events for Valid Until Sunset happening this week— both in New York and Los Angeles!
Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, 6pm —NYU Center for the Humanities, 20 Cooper Sq, NYC.
“Past Times, Life, Loss and Love in Photography”— I’ll be in dialogue with David Deitcher about his new book on gay pornographer Alan B. Stone: Senses of Place, moderated by the esteemed photo historian Shelley Rice.
*Afterward we will be hopping over to Dilf-O-Vision for drinks!

Saturday, March 9th, 2024, 6pm — SPY PROJECTS, 3709 West Jefferson Blvd., LA.
As the west coast book launch for Valid Until Sunset I’ll be talking with Ed Schad, my longtime friend, brilliant writer, and curator at the Broad.
After the talk, I’ll sign books, and we will have cocktails in the garden.
